En rapport från nordiska Lionsprojektet i Minsk ( på engelska )


The months before Belarusian Lions (reed Slava) – "supported" by Belarus Co-ordinator and I had a "hard fight" with the Ministry of Interior affairs to get Lions Belarus approved as a legal organization. Few months ago Belarus Lions "had" to establish a Lions Clubs Office in Minsk, with address and stamp, for it to be a formal organization.


We are afraid Lions club in Belarus would not have been accepted, if it was not for all the good help that Lions has provided from abroad. For example the work of helping the Hospital for children with cancer, our big project of building a new rehabilitation Centre, Lions District 104 B with projects in Krüloyg, LC Ø. Toten (104 K) in Svetlogorsk, etc., and especially our project, where president Lukasjenko himself has helped Lions (Minsk City) to take charge of the property.
Now the remaining challenge is to keep all the Lions Clubs in Belarus still going. Economy – so far:
Support from Minsk City: 100.000
(Ca. € 50.000 used for ex. infrastructure) - 50.000
NSR – support 120.000
Support from D 104 K, ca 70.000 (ca. € 38.000 used for total -38.000 projecting)
Support from D104 K – Nov.-07, ca 15.000
UNICEF – Belarus: 100.000
MD 104, ca 30.000 Available amount of money € 347.000
Proposal to LCIF – (USD 75.000 expected?) € 55.000 Expected available money Nov. – 07: € 402.000
